Telehealth (Online Counseling)

With the increase of life obligations and frequent chaotic schedules for many, BDCS now offers Telehealth services. Telehealth is therapy that is conducted 100 % online and for your convenience. That means if you are unable to meet for traditional appointments, there are options. Telehealth is typically available to individuals despite their clinical diagnosis, with the exception of substance abuse counseling , crisis intervention and/or psychosis. BDCS, PLLC reserves the right to decide if telehealth services are clinically not a good fit for individuals based on their presenting symptoms and diagnosis.

 

Relationship Counseling

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship whether it be in the dating phase, pre-marital phase or post marriage. Therapy sessions are held with both parties and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship so that your relationship can move to have even better days.

Faith Based Counseling

Having a higher power and often times faith, can be essential in many people’s lives. Having a clinician who provides Faith-Based counseling can give people the strength to go through with being content with gaining counseling.

 

Family Counseling

Our intake packet will be sent to you for your review and completion to be returned to our office prior to scheduling your first appointment. This helps to ensure that you can understand us, we can understand you, and together we can work towards your better days of healing and wholeness so that you can achieve your goals.

1. What exactly does the counseling process look like?

Counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client.  Together, we identify the challenges that are in your life and create solutions to help move your life in a more positive and beneficial direction.

3. How Long Does Therapy Last?

Length of therapy can vary depending on your specific needs and circumstances. Some people come to therapy with a specific issue or concern, and brief solution-focused therapy may be the right fit. Often, that can last six to eight sessions. Some people come to therapy to explore issues that seem to run a little deeper. They might engage in therapy for several months or even years.

4. What Can I Expect from My First Session?

In the first session, there is an open dialogue of exploration to identify symptoms you have been experiencing, how long these symptoms have impacted your life, in what areas are these symptoms impacting and identify the steps to alleviate the stress of these symptoms.

5. Is Reflective Work in Between Sessions Encouraged?

Reflective Work also known as “homework” can be given in between sessions for further exploration, tracking data or to give you time to practice skills to determine their effectiveness in your everyday life. Therapy is an avenue to exploration and the development of new tools and skills that are encouraged to be practiced in between sessions for great gains to be made.
