Services We Offer!

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, a most common form of therapy, entails a collaborative process between the patient and the therapist who work together to address a person’s unique needs and/or set of challenges. Individuals can talk to their counselor one-on-one about their feelings and experiences and identify strategies to alleviate symptoms.

Couples

With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, develop strategies to solve problems, resolve conflict in a healthy and productive way, and get what you want out of your relationship.

Family

Family therapy helps to address family issues and heal a family’s wounds. Therapy helps family members improve communication, resolve conflicts, and provide support to one another so that the family unit can be restored and strengthened.

Anger Management

Anger Management counseling helps individuals explore root causes of poor responses to anger, identify triggers to explosive behavioral patterns, and develop strategies to help one have better anger control to ensure the safety of themselves and others.

Marital | Pre-Marital

The intimate nature of marriage requires that you talk to your partner about everything, no matter how awkward or uncomfortable. Marital counseling can help you and your spouse improve your relationship by helping you develop better communication skills to be a better listener or communicator to make your voice and your needs be heard in a productive and positive manner.

Domestic Violence

This type of counseling aims to help victims develop strategies to heal from the pain caused by the abuser. This type of counseling also helps victims overcome the trauma of an abusive relationship and identify steps to ensure their safety.

Addiction Counseling

As an addictions counselor, I will address the symptoms of your addiction and the related areas of impaired functioning. Together we’ll structure the time and content of your ongoing recovery. I believe that there are many paths to a successful recovery that will work with your goals and desires and ensure you can make the life changes you want to make.

Faith-Based/Christian Counseling

Having a higher power and often times faith, can be essential in many people’s lives. Why not integrate your faith in counseling? In Faith-Based/Christian Counseling, we holistically integrate the mind, body, and spirit of people of all faiths. While I align with the Christian faith, I do believe there are other faith based and spiritual practices that can be integrated in your treatment to help you gain the strength to overcome obstacles and challenges you face. Together we can decide on a healthy balance of integration of your faith practices in your treatment and services so that you can be on your way to your better days.

Understanding Therapeutic Approaches

A therapeutic approach is the theory by which a psychologist or counselor frames how they view human relationships and the issues that occur for people throughout their lives. One way to think of a therapeutic approach is that it is the lens that a counselor looks through when they are considering and addressing their client’s problem.

Here at BDCS, PLLC, our therapeutic approach is integrated when addressing your challenges and struggles.

It is not at all uncommon for a trained professional counselor to be educated in several different theories. In fact, many therapists utilize an integrative approach in which they blend different but complimentary theories to work with their client in the most effective way. This flexible approach enables the counseling experience to be tailored to the individual needs and style of each client. No one theory works for everyone, so it is helpful for a counselor to be flexible enough to switch to another approach if their preferred one is not working for that particular client.
